When I pray and ask for divine guidance as to what to share during these 50 days I consistently receive the impression “Tell them about me!” And this evening I feel impressed to speak of the love of God.
Sons
I John 3:1(1st part) “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:”
It’s not enough that we are here but that we should be called the children of God–that’s love. It means God wants us to be in the closest of relationships with Him. I have been overwhelmed by people who have treated me like family. Through the years I have received so much from those who chose to love me like a brother or son. God has given me all that I have. I can’t get arrogant because so much of what I have is the result of the kindness of others. So when we think of God showing us how much he wants to be close to us and be our loving parent I can’t help but think that really shows an amazing humility and vulnerability. God could force us to be his slaves but instead woos us to be his sons and daughters.
Sacrifice
I John 4:10 “This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”
Everyone tries to be nice to the person who can benefit them. The one who is powerful or famous has reason to doubt the sincerity of those who simply maybe trying to get stuff they want from them. But the amazing thing is that God thought enough of us to sacrifice his son for us. What could we do for God? Yet He seems to put great value on us. He sees us though the eyes of faith and love seeing what we can be. He thought the universe would be a better place with us being his eternal family. How awesome!
Salvation
John 3:16-17 “God loved the world this way: He gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but to save the world.”
Now sometimes I feel like sharing these things is telling people what they already know. This text maybe the most famous in the bible. Jesus tells Nicodemus that God loves humans so much that he gave his son in order to save us eternally. It doesn’t get better than that!
So this morning when I was driving to school I was overwhelmed with gratitude as I thanked my Heavenly Father for allowing me to have this moment of existence. I have gotten to know what a hug is. I’ve cried tears of joy. I’ve had many with tears in their eyes tell me what a difference I’ve made in their lives…it doesn’t get much better. I’ve only been able to have these experiences because God created me. And I faced many problems today but I talked them over with my Heavenly Father and had peace.
So today, day 25, I just wanted you to know what I was told to tell you. God loves you incredibly much!
Sons. Sacrifice. Salvation.
We are blessed beyond measure!!
